1. How much notice is needed before the loading date in order to book a move?
In order to be as well prepared as possible for your move, we must first conduct a free in-home survey in order to give an accurate estimate and book your move. After that, we require a 7-day notice prior to your actual load date to book the move. Exceptions can be made, but it may affect the delivery spread for your move. The best advise is to start planning your move as soon as possible.
2. Does my estimate have an expiration date?
The written estimate provided by your salesman is good for 60 days after the date it is issued. If 60 days have lapsed before you decide to book your move, you will need to contact your move coordinator or salesman for an updated estimate. In some cases, this may require another in-home survey.
3. How long will it take to receive my interstate shipment at destination after it has been loaded?
All interstate moves will be hauled on a tractor-trailer along with other shipments going in the same direction as your move until the trailer is full. Therefore, your delivery will fall within a delivery spread assigned at the time you book your move. The length of the delivery spread is based on the weight of your shipment and the mileage between origin and destination. These delivery spreads are set per the tariff guidelines that we must legally follow for all interstate moves. As the shipper, you must be available for delivery every day of your delivery spread. You will be given at least 24 hours notice before the actual delivery.
4. Do you have a minimum weight requirement for interstate shipments?
There is not an actual minimum weight requirement to be moved interstate. However, we cannot price any move for less than 2,100 pounds. In other words, if you want to move only 1,000 pounds, it is possible, but it will be priced as if we were moving 2,100 pounds.
5. Do the crews conducting my move usually expect a tip? How much?
Tips are not necessarily "expected", but of course, appreciated. There is no customary percentage to tip. You may tip according to customer service and what your own pocketbook allows. Some customers prefer to buy lunch for the crews in lieu of tipping, and that is fine as well. It's entirely up to you, the shipper.
